Project Description: Assessment of proposal in tune with the owners’ vision for the total redevelopment of the property. Conceptualization and refinement of the overall development scheme to become the new gateway for Downtown Birmingham, MI.

The 555 Old Woodward Ave. mixed-use complex sits on a prominent corner site with a particular acute-angled geometry, size and shape that called for outstanding urban and architectural design. The new urban intervention encompasses an existing building and its renovation and integration with the new proposal. A new housing tower expanding over a street and the city park across it is to become a beacon for the whole city representing its new future image and drawing attention from residents and visitors. Such landmark is to be seen as the symbol of Birmingham’s urban and economic progress and successful growth and should stand as a model of excellence and elegance as the city’s new gateway. The 555 Old Woodward creates a transition between the old and the new, the past and the future, it’s glowing summarizes the concept and aspirations of the city and its citizens.
